Late 1940s – Early 1950s Vintage Knit skirt and top set. Brick Red / Maroon Twinset with beautiful wooden buttons. A stunning postwar-era knit ensemble featuring a fitted, cropped or worn down Long sweater and matching slight fitted A-line skirt in a deep brick red tone. The top showcases delicate vertical openwork, sculpted ribbed hem and cuffs, and a beautifully detailed neckline with hand-turned wooden buttons, an iconic design feature of late 1940s knitwear.
The skirt falls mid-calf with a soft drape and a comfortable elastic waistband. The elastic is has some stretch - perfect for someone who who needs to stretch it to make it fit. Inner elastic can also easily be replaced as it has an inner open hem. no material tag. Most likely c rafted from a fine crepe-like knit, likely a rayon or early synthetic blend typical of the period.
Unlined and lightweight.

CONDITION: great vintage condition. skirt has two small areas where small holes were sewn shut. Barely noticeable! Smaller than a quarter inch, and does not take away from the garment.
